I can't believe it has been a full week since I have posted anything. I guess there hasn't been much to say. I am VERY excited about the first day of fall on Monday. I spent this week gathering supplies for fall crafts with the kids and hitting up the 50% off sales at Michael's and Hobby Lobby. I picked up some leaf garland, a new sign for the door, a basket with some scented pine cone filler, and some other little things. I plan on spending the rest of the day doing some "fall cleaning" ( I always do this instead of spring cleaning) and getting it all set up. I love the fall. It is actually already feeling cooler already, which is a surprise for Georgia for this early in the year.
Next weekend will be fun too...Corey and I will be going with a group from church to see Les Miserables at The Fox Theater in Atlanta. I have never seen a broadway show and I have never been to The Fox, so I am really looking forward to it.
And, we have Katie's 6th birthday coming up next month, with a great surprise for her! We are taking her to see Disney's Worlds of Fantasy on Ice. The show includes characters from the new Tinkerbell movie, scenes from The Little Mermaid, Cars, and The Lion King. So, Noah will get to go and enjoy it with us too. We bought tickets a couple of months ago because we got a flyer in the mail with a code for half priced tickets opening night. This is part of her present, so we are having her birthday party pretty early so she can get them in time and she can get her Tinkerbell costume she wants for Halloween and wear it to the performance.
We also hope to get a little weekend getaway to Ellijay to enjoy the Apple Festival. I have never been there before either, but I think that will be a fun thing to do with the kids and see some pretty fall leaves.
So, not much going on this week, but coming soon I will probably have lots to post. I have been meaning to take pictures of my newest project too: I got a sewing machine! Corey's Memaw is cleaning out and getting to move and she has several sewing machines (she was a pro back in the day) so I have inherited one of her awesome machines. I plan to blog about that when I get started on some projects and show the AWESOME collection of material I will inherit along with it (think YEARS of collecting material!). I am so excited and blessed to be totally set-up for a new hobby with GREAT quality materials and a great machine...it even does some embroidery too! We went over last weekend to pick up the machine and she sat down to show me the basics of how the machine works. She also had prepared a box with some basic supplies...thread, bobbins, all different kinds of extra needles for different uses on the machine, buttons, zippers, and much more! I have absolutely NO excuse to not make something, so maybe on our fall break next week I can complete one of my new year's resolutions for this year which was to make a curtain for Noah's toy storage cabinet, or maybe get started on finishing the quilt I started two years ago! Hello home-made Christmas presents! (probably 09 :))
Stay-tuned! Now to get to that fall cleaning! (I don't enjoy spring cleaning, it means the coming of HOT here in GA! Fall means the coming of BEARABLE weather and yummy baking!)

Hello! Oh, your daughter is going to love the ice show. We saw it last year here in town and it was great! We didn't have the best seats in the house and we still LOVED it. Well, I loved it because I was the only girl who went. My boys thought the prince was cool and the different characters. lol. Enjoy. We are celebrating an 8th birthday in October!!!

Hi Carrie! I think it would be GREAT to meet you in person and to see Bethany too! I am pretty sure the Growers Outlet will be open through the winter because they always sell pansies as well, but I am not sure, or about how late you can plant mums. I am pretty sure I bought some two years ago in October and they were fine. I sent an email to the Growers Outlet and I'll let you know what they say! Oh, I am so excited! When would you be able to come? Oct 25 is a bad day, just so you know (Tech homecoming).
I am so excited about your sewing machine and about your fall craft projects. I am especially excited about making t-shirts together. Now that I know I am coming home, I am really ready to come! When I didn't have any plans, I was perfectly content here, but now that I have plans, I am so eager for the time to hurry up and get here!!!
What a fun week it is going to be, to see Marcy, Katie's party... lots of fun stuff!
I am green with envy. Lots of fun stuff planned!!
I get giddy when Fall arrives too! :o}
I can't believe you have never been to The Fox! You will have a blast! Are y'all getting all dressed up and making a night of it?
I have always wanted to go to the Apple Festival, but have never made it up either, when is it?
Also, so excited for you about the new sewing machine-sounds like fun!! I may be a little jealous!
oh, I just love fall! We are in NC so we get HOT summers too. Although, it cooled off a lot earlier here than it normally does. Which is fine by me!
I just love your header! Oh, and I was scrolling down and saw your new do ~ Love it! Not sure what it looked like before but I love that style.
Anyhoo, I ran across your blog via the mom's blog site.
Enjoyed my visit!
