Anticipation

Each day is a special gift from God, and while life may not always be fair, you must never allow the pains, hurdles, and handicaps of the moment to poison your attitude and plans for yourself and your future.
-Og Mandino

I like to have things to look forward to. I am not sure why, but I really enjoy having something planned. Either an outing with the kids, a vacation, a trip with my husband....anything. I am kind of sad when I don't have something in the back of my mind that I am waiting to happen.

School will begin for us soon. I don't have a specific date. But, I plan to start school daily again just as soon as we finish purchasing our materials. Before that happens I need to drive to Knoxville to visit McKay's. Is it worth the drive all the way up there? Of course! I have a credit to spend at that store, so basically I am shopping for free, so it is definitely worth it!

Anyway, I am restless to have a daily schedule again. Days with no commitments are difficult for my personality. I often find that I have been reading a book all morning and it is suddenly time for lunch. It turns into a daily trend of wasted time...

I have a couple more books to buy for science and health, then I have a couple of math things to pick up as well. I would love to have an in depth art program next year but we will see how that turns out. One thing at a time. Katie has expressed interest in taking Music classes next year instead of ballet. We plan to enroll her in Kindermusik classes at Berry College. She will be taking a class that will introduce her to several instruments and reading music. I am so happy that she is going to do that because I think music is a natural talent of hers. She can remember lyrics and melodies very easily and accurately.

Noah loves everything he has ever done as far as extracurricular stuff. He loves sports but says he doesn't want to do soccer again this year. He loved visiting his friend's gymnastics class, so that will probably be what he does.
Those things both begin in August, but I am really thinking of trying to have a goal to start our classes the end of July or at the very beginning of August at the latest.

Another thing on my mind is whether or not to participate in our local Co-Op again. The kids really seemed to love it but it is just a big time commitment. 3 entire hours (plus driving 20 min each way) on Monday mornings!!! I know that doesn't seem like a lot, but oh well...I will see how I feel closer to time. That starts in August also, which is why I am just hoping to get all our other stuff ready and go ahead and start our school here so that I can get a feel for how this whole "reporting" thing works and will work in our plans and week.

And, of course, on top of all that...Corey and I have our Disney trip coming up in October. I am very much looking forward to that! We are going during free dining so we will get to enjoy tons of great food .... if you know us you know that is one of our most favorite things to do!

There are a couple of other major decisions in the works too, so lots of things to thoughtfully consider and pray over. I know it will all work out perfectly... things always do.

Anticipation to me, is a word I tend to use in a good way....

I know how you feel. We are also entering into the "unknown". I like to look at it as a new adventure. You will never know how much it means to me to have a friend like you to help me through this homeschool thing.

I am with you on the school thing. I think we will start really early this year, especially since we will want to take a break when Andy gets home.
I have really missed you this week. We need to make up for it next week, while we can.
