New Wishlist Item!

I was on facebook today and saw an ad for something that looked pretty interested. So, I looked it up and found a fascinating website that will take your blog and turn it into a softcover or hardcover book!

The site is called Blog2Print..you can click the name to go to the site.

AND you can choose to include all the comments from your posts or not. I decided to set mine up and it was really easy! You just enter your blog web address and it gets all the information from there. It took at few minutes, but it finally loaded ALL my posts along with an introduction of my choice and WOW it was SO NEAT to see all my blog posts in a neat little book. It even included any photos I uploaded to the posts...(not slideshows, just uploaded photos within a posting).
So, here's the bad news! ha ha! For a softcover version of my blog as a book, it could cost $124!!!! WOW! The hardcover edition would be $10 more. BUT, that is for 330 pages!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think that might be worth it actually. But, I better think quickly because every time I post that price will go up! ha ha!

What do you think? Would it be worth that much to you to have a copy of something that is pretty much like a diary of the past 2 years with photos? I am wondering if anyone knows of a company that does something similar so easily? Blog friends, help?

I don't think it's worth it. If you want a diary, go to Barnes & Noble and buy a notebook for $6.99.

A weblog is a weblog. You can view it on your computer any time you want for free.

That is pretty cool. I like the fact that it includes pictures. But, aren't you going to want to do it again in another year or two? Can you chose when it starts and when it stops? Can you make a new book, starting from the place you leave off now?
You know me - I am cheap. I would wait.
But it is a really cool idea.

Bethany: Yes, you can choose when to start and stop the posts as far as dating goes. SO, that would mean it would only be THIS expensive this one time, then after that it is pretty comparable to any other "bound book" thing...starting at around $14.95...if you did it more often, like once a year or so it wouldn't be so bad.

Chris: BUT what if something happened to Google and my blog got eaten by cyberspace? I would lose all those cute stories and all I wrote about the kids, etc.

I have talked about wanting to print off my blog, but now that I actually see how many pages it would take: WOW!!!!
This really doesn't seem to be that large of a price...

I would print them according to years, one for 2007, one for 2008 and so on... I think it would be great to have for your kids to read when they are grown. I am reading letters that my grandpa wrote home when he was in the army, it was a great find while cleaning out their house. Plus if you get a year at a time, it won't be so much money out at once.
Go for it! One day your great grandkids will love reading them!

I agree with Chris(boxingchris that is). I would do one year per book. Start by doing the first year, see how it turns out(quality etc). If you were putting all of this in a scrapbook, how much would that cost? comparable? Then go from there.

So, it is $59 (or $69) to print 2008, which is the only "full" year I have. 2007 is when I started, in August I think.

I agree with Chris. I would not be able to stand it if it just ended in the middle of a year and the next one started there. If 2007 is a partial year, you can either just have one from inception to Dec. 31, 2008 and then do one each year after that. Or, you can do a separate one for the partial year. I don't know what I would do. If I had kids, I would want to print mine off. It's a great investment, I think. Your blog is like an online scrapbook.

Okay, so that was a really long post, but I guess I am kind of excited for you that you are doing that and I can't wait to hear how it looks when you get it!
