Jill asked: "Who is your hero and why?"
I wanted to be sure to give this proper thought, so I looked up the definition of "hero." I was hoping that some reference to "super heroes" would be in the official definition so that I could pick my favorite superhero! Anyway, on to the definition and answer:

1 a: a mythological or legendary figure often of divine descent endowed with great strength or ability b: an illustrious warrior c: a man admired for his achievements and noble qualities d: one that shows great courage
2 a: the principal male character in a literary or dramatic work b: the central figure in an event, period, or movement.
3 plural usually heros : submarine 2
4: an object of extreme admiration and devotion : idol
I guess I would say that based on the #1 definition, that Jesus would have to be my hero. He is of divine descent and is a never ending source of strength, achieved the greatest things in history, and is obviously the original "noble" one with great courage.
Based on definition #2, Corey is my hero. He is definitely the principal male character in the dramatic work that is my life! ha! (Noah being the runner up).
Definition #3 I am assuming could be taken as a sub sandwich reference (I know I am stretching that one) but it would be a turkey on wheat with all the veggies, olive oil, vinegar, and garlic salt.
#4: Someone that I have extreme admiration and devotion to, idol,....not sure. I really don't put that much stock in people to tell you the truth. I love and admire my children and my family and I respect people who seem to be "true" in character and things like that, but as far as a "hero" like a sports figure, musician, or something like that...I don't know. I have always had the realization (I think) that "famous" people often aren't what they seem, so I have never really "idolized" anyone in that way that I can remember.

I love that Corey (and Noah) are your hero's. That is a wonderful answer. I guess I expected Jesus, because I know you well. But I hadn't looked deeply enough into the definition of hero. Thanks for putting all the background research into it!

I AM CATCHING UP ON YOUR BLOG AND MY HERO IS MY HUSBAND LEE. hE IS ALWAYS DOING ALL HE CAN FOR OUR FAMILY NEVER THINKING OF HIS SELF. HE SAYS WHEN WE MARRIED I SAVED HIM, STORY FOR LATER. BUT, WITHOUT HIM I WOULD BE NOTHING SOO.. LEE IS MY HERO!!!
